Audience
: AK series rifle owners seeking to enhance their knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and improve their shooting skills with the AK series platform.

 

Scope: This course is tailored for entry-level to intermediate shooters seeking to master the safe and efficient use of an AK series rifle. Through expert instruction and hands-on range exercises, participants will develop a strong foundation in fundamental shooting techniques and rifle manipulation.

Key objectives include improving your AK series rifle handling skills, streamlining malfunction clearance, and learning proven methods to enhance your overall shooting performance. More experienced shooters will have the opportunity to refine their existing skills and continue progressing as confident and proficient marksmen.

Whether you’re new to the AK platform or looking to elevate your abilities, this course equips you with the knowledge and techniques to succeed.

Participants should be prepared to train in all weather conditions. This program can be challenging and participants should come to class with an open mind and a good attitude.

This is an 8 hour training day 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with 30 minutes for lunch. It is highly recommended that you bring your lunch as you will have no options within 15 mins of the range. It is also recommended you have snacks, some will be available such as power bars, crackers, and granola bars. Otherwise, please bring your own.

Prerequisites and Physical Requirements

  • Student should be prepared to train in all weather
  • Student must possess the physical strength and stamina to fire their firearms in shooting drills.
  • Student should be physically able to get up and down from standing, kneeling and prone positions.

 

Required Equipment

  • AK Series rifle with sling 
  • Three magazine minimum
  • Magazine Pouch recommended
  • Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide
  • Cap with brim (baseball or boonie style)
  • T-Shirt with crew neck collar (no V-necks)
  • Long pants (no shorts)
  • Light hiking boots or running shoes.   NO open toed shoes allowed!
  • Hearing protection (available upon request, no charge)
  • Wrap around eye protection (available upon request, no charge)
  • Water bottle or hydration system
  • Sunscreen / Bug Spray
  • Foul weather clothing
  • Note taking materials
  • 800 rounds of range ammo

**If you do not possess any of the above gear/ammo, please contact Kevin as far out from the course date as possible**


Optional Equipment

  • Knee pads
  • Long sleeve ‘Sun’ shirt (can be button type)
