Operator’s Course (Level 2)

Intermediate to advanced level

 

 

 

Audience:

Intermediate to Advanced level shooters with some shooting experience on both pistols and the AR firearm.

Scope:

This is a high intensity two day carbine/handgun course designed for the advanced shooter that focuses on concentrated refinement of basic shooting fundamentals as applied to the handgun and carbine. Adaptive and agile thinking is needed in tactical situations and our comprehensive drills will push past the boundary of the flat range mentality.

 

Note: This is not a beginner’s course. This course is designed for the student that already has a solid set of basic skills and a strong familiarity of their equipment. You must provide documentation of successful completion of an entry level handgun/carbine skills program from a law enforcement agency or training facility. Note the prerequisites and requirements on this page.

 

Participants should be prepared to train in all weather conditions. Training may proceed for more than 8 hours on some days. This program is challenging and participants should be in good physical condition.

Prerequisites and Physical Requirements

  1. Student must provide documentation of successful completion of entry level carbine/handgun course.
  2. Student should be prepared to train in all weather
  3. Student must possess the physical strength and stamina to fire their firearms in prolonged shooting drills.
  4. Student should be physically able to get up and down from standing, kneeling and prone positions.

 

Required Equipment

  • Carbine/Rifle with Sling in good working order
  • Optics or iron sights for Carbine. If using optics, back up irons required.
  • 3 Magazines for Carbine
  • Semi-Auto Handgun in good working order with at least 3 magazines
  • Belt mounted, dominant side holster that covers the trigger (Pistol)
  • Magazine Pouches for Carbine and Pistol or Chest Rig
  • Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide
  • Cap with brim (baseball or boonie style)
  • T-Shirt with crew neck collar (no V-necks)
  • Long pants (no shorts)
  • Light hiking boots or running shoes.   NO open toed shoes allowed on Range!
  • Hearing protection (available upon request, no charge)
  • Wrap around eye protection (available upon request, no charge)
  • Water bottle or hydration system
  • Sunscreen / Bug spray
  • Weapons cleaning supplies
  • Foul weather clothing
  • Note taking materials
  • 500 rds of rifle ball ammo (available for purchase at BRM with advanced notice)
  • 300 rounds of pistol ball ammo (available for purchase at BRM with advanced notice)

Optional Equipment

  • Knee and elbow pads
  • Long sleeve ‘Sun’ shirt (can be button type)
